George's primary objective as an artist is to capture some of this world's grandeur in watercolor.
While interested in the Visual Arts for most of his life (born Logan Township, Ontario in 1937), it is only since his retirement from teaching that George has seriously committed himself full time to painting.
George finds the medium of transparent watercolor to be ideally suited to what he wants to do as an artist. He is an active sailor and believes there is a comparison to be made between sailing and watercolors. Just as the sailor attempts to control the natural elements of wind and water to move his boat to where he wants to go, so the watercolor artist attempts to control the natural elements of paint and water to achieve a successful painting.
It is no accident that many of George's paintings depict scenes of God's grandeur involving the water.
