Elsie Ring:  BIOGRAPHY

About the Artist:  Although I do not have an art degree, I have learned from many workshops and courses, through the counseling of fellow artists and of course through thousands of hours of painting.

I have been painting on a regular basis since 1980 when I retired. For over 25 years I was a member of the Burk's Falls Art and Crafts Club, where we had many art exhibitions, showed our work in local venues and as members of the Northern Ontario Art Association submitted paintings yearly for a juried show in the north.  When an artist had 7 paintings (over the years) chosen by NOAA, they received their "Letters" which allowed them to sign their work with NOAA after their name.  Along with a few other members of the club, I did receive my letters from NOAA

My usual medium is watercolour, but I often do pastels, pen and ink, and also work in silk-hand painting with French dyes.  My favourite subject is landscape but I also love painting flowers, portraits and figures.
