BIOGRAPHY:  HEATHER HOOPER

I was born in St. Catharines, and moved to Toronto when I was 13.  After receiving a diploma from Ryerson, I came to Windsor to teach at Patterson C. I.  It was here that I met and married my husband, Barry.  Later, I returned to University of Windsor and received my degree in Social Science.

We have 3 children, of whom I am most proud--Jeff, a professor at Acadia University in Nova Scotia; Steven, a high school teacher at Bluevale Secondary in Waterloo; and Jaye, a lawyer with Williams McEnery and Davis in Ottawa.  I have 9 grandchildren, ranging in age from 1 to 16.
I have always had an interest in art  After taking courses in Interior Design , and Fashion Merchandising and Design, I became more and more interested in learning about painting and drawing.  So, after retiring from my career as a high school teacher, I had time to pursue my longtime desire.  I began by taking classes in acrylics and then expanded my interests to watercolour and ink.  I enjoy working with all three mediums.  Thanks to the encouragement of family and friends, I continue to attend classes and workshops to learn more, improve and refine these skills.
