I was born in London, Ontario and grew up in London, Stratford and Niagara Falls, Ontario.  I began to paint in 2000 as a new year’s resolution to myself.   Art has been my addiction since first time I picked up a paint brush and put colour to canvas. I paint because I have to.  It’s in my mind constantly. Everything I see and touch has colour, texture and tone.  My goal is to improve and to continue to love what I do.  I aspire to be more creative, letting my imagination flow like liquid with colours and ideas.  However, many of my paintings are in black and white.  Like me they represent the complete opposite ends of the spectrum of colour.  I developed a love for painting trees and flowers. To me, Nature’s colours are so beautiful, so extreme and so perfect.   I selected watercolours as my primary medium because of the end result and sometimes the end result is not always what I think it will be. I love using Masa paper on watercolour projects of its special effect, I love where the paint goes; it has a mind of its own. I find it a real challenge to control the direction.  The colour explores unsuspected pathways through the texture.  I have also worked with clay and stained glass.  Both of these mediums taught me new techniques and themes.  Variation of colours and texture using another form through alternative dimensions has allowed me to explore another truth about art using such creative experiences.
