Toni Wells

What a Wonderful World We Live In!
I was born Toni (MacDonald) Wells in Halifax, NS and moved to Windsor, Ontario with my family in 1966. Creativity is prevalent in me family and my mother encouraged everyone to express themselves through art, crafts, and music. After attending the Fine Arts program at the University of Windsor, I worked in office settings for 40 years before seizing the opportunity in 2018 to finally pursue my art as a professional.
I use acrylics on canvas or mixed media on paper to create realistic images that are unique, colourful, and full of light.  My work demonstrates a loving awareness of the wonders of nature and I am also recognized as a specialist in commemorative portraits.
What a Wonderful World! My first solo show at the Leamington Arts Centre in 2020 was based on my optimistic outlook on life. I was featured in a prominent Windsor magazine, The Drive, in 2020 for my artistic achievements. The Drive commented that my work can “inspire us to rise up and move beyond the rough moments in life.”
A member of several local arts organizations, my pieces are often exhibited in group gallery shows and on social media.  You might also see me and my work in several local fundraising events each year where I actively participate and contribute.
