Carol Anne Winters
I derive my inspiration for painting from outdoor space and am constantly moved by the images created in Nature. Using photographs that I have taken, combined with my own imagination, I begin to sketch and design a watercolor. I want viewers to be able to feel the mood of my painting.
My interest in art began with porcelain painting, first with dishes and then to ceramic tile for bathrooms and kitchens. To further my knowledge I attended the visual art program at the University of Windsor.
I have spent many winters in Florida with my husband and at that time had the opportunity to attend workshops with Joe Fettingis, Kathy Bostwick, Donna Zagotto, Ann Abgott and Sue Archer. After attending a four day workshop in conjunction with the Florida Watercolor society, I realized that so much more can be achieved in painting using watercolors, gouache, inks and archival papers.
