Jennifer Moore-Tymowska
Born close to the sea on the South Western coast of Australia, I began globe-trotting at an early age, and spent five childhood years in Canada before returning to Europe. My parents moved to Windsor in the 70s, and I began making my acquaintance with Windsor periodically over the years on my visits home to see them. After an international career as a Fashion Model based in New York and Paris, I married and ‘settled down’ happily in Geneva, Switzerland only to be uprooted once more to finally make my home base in Warsaw along with my Polish husband and family. Painting began one year in grey November in Warsaw when I had to find colour! I was initially inspired by the Impressionists, thrilled with Expressionists but confess to be captivated by the Fauvists. Missing sunshine and vibrancy, I began to paint using bold and bright colours that have formed my style up to this day. Acrylics are my favourite medium – their flexibility is seductive. Mixed media is appealing too, and experiments with contemporary art products such as gels that add texture are exciting and add extra impact to the artwork.
