Born in San Jose, Costa Rica. Moved to Panama with my family. Attended high school in that city. Came to Toronto to further my education and learn English. Got married and moved to Windsor. Here I attended the University of Windsor and finished with a BA in Spanish and a Minor in Fine Arts. While in Fin Arts I took figure drawing with Adele Duck and 2 and 3D drawing and colour with Brian Brown. I also took: ceramics, sculpture and Art History. I have a certificate to teach Spanish as a 2nd Language from St. Clair College.
I taught at different levels in high school with the Board of Ed. in Chatham and also evening classes at St. Clair. I was part of the International Language program which was held at Forest Glade School. I have a passion for all the arts. Started painting in water colours about 20 years ago. Since I have traveled to many parts of the world as far as Sri Lanka and Tahiti, I depict many of those places in my paintings. I am inspired by nature. Lately, it is the Kuna Indians of the San Blas Islands in Panama that have inspired me. These new painting are done using acrylics. |
